Indofast Energy partners with Zeon Charging to expand battery swapping
Date: 04 Aug 2026
Indofast Energy, India's
leading battery-swapping solutions provider, announced a strategic partnership
with Zeon Charging, one of India's leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs), to
expand battery swapping infrastructure across premium, high-footfall locations
in Southern India. The collaboration will see Indofast Energy deploying its
Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) at Zeon Charging's established network of
sites spanning premium malls, metro parking areas, and commercial hubs across
Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other key markets.
The partnership has commenced
with the deployment of 6 QIS across two locations in Bengaluru, including a
presence at Orion Mall, Rajajinagar - one of the city's busiest commercial
destinations. Plans are underway to scale the Orion Mall deployment further,
with discussions ongoing to increase to 5-6 additional QIS at the site.
By leveraging Zeon Charging's
portfolio of premium, high-visibility locations, Indofast Energy gains access
to sites that combine strong footfall, established power infrastructure, and
strategic positioning within urban mobility corridors. For delivery riders and
commercial EV users, this means access to battery swapping at well-connected
locations where a two-minute swap ensures zero disruption to daily operations.
The partnership marks a
significant step in Indofast Energy's strategy of deepening its network density
across Southern India - a region that already accounts for a substantial share
of the company's operational footprint, with over 450 stations in Bengaluru
alone.
Subhash Bhat, Interim CEO,
Indofast Energy said, "Our collaboration with Zeon Charging enables us to
bring battery swapping to some of the most accessible and high-visibility
locations across Southern India. Premium malls, metro parking facilities, and
commercial hubs are exactly the kind of high-traffic sites where EV users need
seamless energy access. By partnering with an established CPO like Zeon, we are
accelerating our network expansion into power-ready, strategically positioned
locations. This is a natural extension of our mission to make battery swapping
accessible wherever riders need energy, making it the most practical and
accessible choice for EV users across India."
Akhil Venkateshwaran, CTO
& Director, Zeon Charging, said "At Zeon Charging, we are building
future-ready EV infrastructure that serves the evolving needs of India's
electric mobility ecosystem. Partnering with
Indofast Energy unlocks a vital piece of this objective catering to both fixed-charging users and the
rapidly growing battery swapping segment.
This collaboration at strategic venues like Orion Mall in Bangalore
proves that integrating swapping stations into premium retail and transit hubs
is highly effective in creating a seamless, sustainable, and convenient
experience for EV drivers across Southern India. We look forward to scaling this partnership
rapidly across our network."
Indofast Energy has established itself as a key
enabler of sustainable urban mobility through strategic partnerships with
leading OEMs, fleet operators, and infrastructure partners. The company's
